Ravitly
We built the Realtor.com data door on Ravitly so an app can ask for live listings from across the US. A data door is a way one program asks another for information. For sale, for rent, for sale by owner, and single-family homes are all in that ask. You send a city and a key. A neat computer list comes back.
ravitly.com ↗- Customer: An app that needs live US home listings.
- Problem: For sale, for rent, and owner sales do not sit in one list.
- Solution: A Realtor.com data door on Ravitly. Send a city and a key. A neat list comes back.
- Outcome: For sale, for rent, owner sales, and single-family homes in one ask.
- Strategic win: The app stays current as listings change, without someone copying them.
The homes are on the site. The app needs them in a neat list.
Someone building a search, a comparison tool, or a lead list should not have to keep a copy program alive for every city. Sale, rent, and for sale by owner should be a choice, not three projects.
Why it was hard
A listing page is not a feed. Sale, rent, and for-sale-by-owner sit in different searches, and a copy program you wrote in March is the thing that breaks when the page moves. Ravitly is the simple ask instead of that program.
- For sale, for rent, and for sale by owner are not one download on the listing site
- A single-family home in one city still means paging through results by hand
- Photos, tax records, and the agent are on different screens
- An app cannot wait on a program that fails the week the layout changes

Search the country
Point the homes ask at a city and a state. Choose for sale, for rent, or for sale by owner, and single-family homes when that is what you want. One ask returns the list. You are not opening a new tab for each county.
Open the Realtor.com data door →Then open the record
A property id opens that one house: photos, history, tax records, and features. Agents are two more asks, a list and a profile, with ratings, active listings, and past deals. The home and the person selling it stay in the same place.
See the four asks →Paste it and run it
The docs show a short Python example: one ask, a secret key, and four details (city, state, how many, and the status). The answer is the listings. Basic is $9 a month. You do not set up your own computer or keep a copy program fixed to use it.
View pricing →A city, a status, and a key. The listings come back as a neat list.
For sale, for rent, for sale by owner, and single-family homes across the US. The ask is a simple "please send me this." If the listing changes, the next ask sees it. You are not keeping a copy program alive.
